The World Economic Forum created Global Shaper hubs in major cities around the world to empower young leaders to make a difference in their community and represent the youth voice at the Forum.
Chicago's first class came together in June 2013. We believe our diversity is a key strategic asset: we represent Chicago's amazing neighborhoods (Hyde Park to Edgewater), countries across the world (Chennai to Venice) industries (private to public sector, entrepreneurs to graduate students, and everything in between), and pizza predilections (deep-dish, thin-crust, and yes, even New York-style).

We hail from Asia to Africa, have gladly welcomed transfers from other Hubs (Italy, Jamaica, Israel, India, and more), and happily host visiting Shapers from around the world - most recently Mexico, Canada, and China.
